About Ayushmann

Former Radio Jockey and now a Video Jockey, Television Anchor and Actor, Ayushmann Khurrana began as a contestant of the reality show MTV Roadies Season 2 which catapulted him to fame and he moved on to become a VJ on MTV. He also anchored popular shows and events on television like India's Got Talent, Music Ka Maha Muqqabla and Just Dance. He is one of the most popular anchors on Indian Television and is venturing into Bollywood as well.

Ayushmann Khurrana is a native of Chandigarh, Punjab. He did his schooling from St. John’s High School and DAV College Chandigarh. He majored in English Literature and was active in theatre throughout his college and university days. He was the founder member of DAV College theatre group Aaghaaz and Manchtantra, which are active theatre groups in Chandigarh. He has conceptualized and enacted street plays and won prizes in national fests like- Mood Indigo (IIT Mumbai), BITS Pilani and St. Bedes Simla. He also won a Best Actor award for playing Ashwatthama in Dharamvir Bharati’s Andha Yug.

Career Chronology

2007

Though he had participated in many reality shows, his catapult to fame was MTV Roadies Season 2 where he emerged a winner. After finishing his post graduation in Journalism from Panjab University Chandigarh, his first job was of a Radio Jockey in BIG FM, Delhi. He hosted the show Big Chai - Maan Na Maan, Main Tera Ayushmann and also won the Young Achievers Award in 2007 for it.

2008
After radio, Ayushmann moved on to become a Video Jockey on MTV with Pepsi MTV Wassup, The Voice of Youngistaan. He was also a part of other popular MTV shows like MTV Fully Faltoo Movies "Cheque De India" and "Jaadoo Ek Baar"

2009
As his Career with MTV continued, VJing shows like Fantastic Five, Gone in 60 Seconds, MTV Roadies Hell Down Under auditions and MTV Rock On auditions, his career took off as a commercial Television Anchor with India's Got Talent on Colors TV which he co-anchored with Nikhil Chinapa. He also presented Stripped which gave latest updates on the Indian TV industry with with a tinge of sarcasm, again on MTV. At the end of the year he was also the anchor of a singing reality show Music Ka Maha Muqqabla on STAR Plus.

2010
Apart from hosting the second seasons of MTV Rock On on MTV and India's Got Talent on Colors, Ayushmann was also a part of the anchoring team of Extra Innings T20 for Indian Premier League Season 3 on SET Max with Gaurav Kapur, Samir Kochhar and Angad Bedi. He also started off with anchoring Super Star Buzz on STAR Plus and STAR One, a weekly show giving latest updates on Indian film industry.

2011
Instead of hosting the 3rd season of India's Got Talent, Ayushmann anchored the dance-based reality show Just Dance on STAR Plus judged by Hrithik Roshan, Vaibhavi Merchant and Farah Khan. Just Dance also fetched him Indian Television Academy Award as the Best Anchor of 2011.
Apart from this, it was during this period that he got his first Bollywood break with Vicky Donor

2012
This year began with him bagging the Cosmopolitan Fun and Fearless Male 2012 Award for Best TV anchor and the Star Parivaar 2012 award for Best Anchor for his show Just Dance. His debut movie Vicky Donor, a light-hearted rom-com, based on the subject of Sperm donation [11] being produced by John Abraham, Eros and Rising Sun Films and directed by ace director and ad film maker Shoojit Sircar also releases this year on 20th of April.
